I returned from vacation and received a message that water was running down the wall in the office below us. Belfor immediately got involved, and the next morning Mr. Selimaj Habib came by! A very friendly and dedicated employee. He quickly found the problem, showed and explained it to me, and documented everything. I can highly recommend both the company and Mr. Selimaj.
Beware - Fake Company After the fire in our apartment, my Vaudoise home contents insurance company commissioned BELFOR to clean our household goods. The Belfor regional manager was supposed to contact me and discuss the procedure with me. Despite numerous inquiries, I never heard from him. Six weeks after the fire, our household goods were still untouched in the apartment. Since renovation work had been carried out in the apartment in the meantime, our other household goods became increasingly dirty and damaged by the plastering and painting work. During the initial meeting (six weeks after the fire), the newly involved BELFOR employee walked through the apartment indifferently and decided that it would take at least another three weeks before we could get anything back cleaned. After the fire, we had no clothes (winter season was approaching), no shoes, no school supplies for the children, nothing at all. I had to clean and retrieve what we urgently needed from the apartment myself. The BELFOR employee's behavior was extremely unpleasant, condescending, and indifferent. I also received borderline, disrespectful WhatsApp messages from him. BELFOR also had a contract to clean some furniture and empty and clean the refrigerator. The furniture wasn't cleaned, despite a half-day work report. The refrigerator was emptied, but since this only happened six weeks after the fire, it stank terribly from the spoiled food. The refrigerator wasn't cleaned; soot, dirt, and flies were still inside after BELFOR's intervention. BELFOR doesn't prepare competent fire reports. It was decided that every room was not affected by the fire, even though the stench permeated the entire apartment and traces of soot were visible upon closer inspection in every room (in the ventilation system, behind the furniture, in cupboards). My home contents insurance then accepted these false and incompetent reports as a basis for negotiations with me in order to keep cleaning costs and reimbursement fees low. A very questionable approach. After the six-week wait, I called another fire cleanup company, which fortunately cleaned all of our remaining household goods within a few days. According to this cleaning company, cleanup usually begins on the day of the fire, or at the latest the day after, so that the fire victims can be provided with the most necessary supplies as quickly as possible. The fire was a terrible experience, and BELFOR's inaction made it twice as bad for us.
