It’s an amazing place to visit and not expensive. The view is unforgettable! Also, there is a restaurant and a cafe at the top; the staff is very friendly and the prices are affordable.
This is a must do. I came to Grindelwald just to do this and was not disappointed. I had a wonderful day and this was an easy adventure to add to your itinerary. The restaurant at the top was so good -- try to time it out to have lunch once you take the gondola up. Really enjoyed everything about this (gondola ride, cliff walk, restaurant) We were there mid December 2025
Our family enjoyed this thrilling adventure. At first there was a lot of hype because it is a walk around the cliff but when we got there we all decided to be brave. It was so worth it. Everyone that was walking the cliff was a little nervous as it’s so high up but of course the reward is getting the those amazing photos! The views are more than worth it plus you get a bit of bragging rights with your family. Our oldest daughter has autism so it was rewarding to see her take on this challenge. We gave her the option and she did well!
Incredible views, a unique experience, and it's free! The walk is short and not too scary for those with a mild fear of heights. The line looks long but moves fast. Combine it with a hike to Bachalpsee or the First Mountain cart for the perfect day.
The First Cliff Walk is an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Grindelwald. The walkway clings to the cliffside, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. It’s thrilling yet safe, with sturdy paths and railings, and the scenery is absolutely stunning—snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and crisp mountain air. Perfect for adventure lovers and photographers alike.
A breathtaking trail in the Swiss Alps! This scenic path offers jaw‑dropping views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains! Pro tip: Beat the crowds with an early start and don’t miss the lake on the top! It’s another 40 minutes hike to the lake.
