Stunning restaurant, great fresh food with some vegetarian options too. The kids get busy with the small play area and it's really peaceful. The lake just below is also tranquil. We came here via the cable car which we took after a short walk from engelberg. About the hike - On returning, we tried to hike down with the kids and it was gorgeous - we crossed a river bed and a waterfall stream. But then we couldn't ascertain the exact time in which we will reach down and decided to hike back up and took the cable car down again.

Excellent service, good food, breathtaking view. I lost my credit cards there, and when I went back after a few hours and asked if they found it they gave it back after I told my name (which was on the card). I know maybe it's not so rare in Switzerland but it always melts my heart. But even before that, they were so nice. The Älperrösti is super delicious. Highly recommended for everyone.

You can make both easy short hikes or full day tougher trips. There are quite a few restaurants up there. Only thing is that the gondola lifts are tiny, and often very high up from the ground. So nothing for people with vertigo.

Great place to enjoy food and drink with a panoramic view is so refreshing. Delicious "Älplerrösti" and "Schnitzel" served here. Only cash accepted.

Nice views - but very slow and rude service. After main course we waited 30 mins trying to order coffee, were sent off 2 times and then gave up.

Amazing place to have lunch or drink something. The problem was that we couldn't even order it. I asked inside to a guy just two coffees, and the answer is that I have to sit and order the waiter. Then I was waiting for more than 30min and the waiter started asking tables that arrived 15min after me. So I just left. You need to improve the service and better organize, it is a piti...
