Where Switzerland was born! The monument down the road is also worth a visit.
What a historic place! We visited on a Thursday so could „only“ see the outside exposition. It is worthwhile to stop and read/listen about the Battle of 1315 and the events in those times so important for the area! Information is true&fair, i.e. not only covering the „Morgarten Mythos“ but also known historic facts. Also our teenagers enjoyed the 1hr-stop we made! The Tower on the hill is cool too and don’t forget to see the little chapel across the road! A beautiful spot in a overwhelming scenery right at the most important location that was tactically used back in 1315! Don‘t miss it!
Did the battle take place in 1315 or not? The visitor's centre aims to answer the questions. There are attractions outside the centre including the old Swiss farmhouse with has an audio presentation in four languages (including English) and the defensive "Letziturm". The area is ideal for gentle walks and thd Schlachtkapelle (Battlefield Chapel) is about a hundred metres or so across the road.
Well updated and built. Very nice architecture and information sharing

On our short bike ride from Unterägeri via Sattel to Schwyz, we passed this Morgarten information center. Shortly before Sattel, we were treated to a magnificent view of the Swiss mountain landscape from a neatly stacked pile of wood.
