This is an astonishing place to say the least. Off any touristy goals, depraved of spectacular scenery and quite away from any mundane city center, this place is going to surprise you with it's top notch cuisine, friendly service and quiet and joyful ambience. Maybe the fact it's off the mass tourists scarring ruts has kept the staff and the vibe of this place this way. We especially enjoyed the terrace with the view into the Jura mountains. Although anything but spectacular, its changing aspects by looking at it from different locations always has some fascination for us, having hiked the whole ridge from Dielsdorf near Zurich to Col de Crozet in France so far...
Decent food. We went there for Easter after making reservations. Food was very salty.
We visit Bern every year and always make a point of booking a table on the terrace to enjoy the wonderful salad buffet and grilled meat. Beautiful view of the Emmentaler countryside as the sun goes down. Informal. Always well patronised. Nice atmosphere. By Swiss standards, reasonable prices and very good value.
Very good salad Buffet and nice environment. I really enjoyed food but second time meat was not as good as the first time. Wish Sunday is sunny to celebrate my birthday.
