Nice experience. Located in a quiet area in the outskirts from Biel/Bienne. Convenient to get by car. Kind staff. Clean and spacious rooms. We opted to take the breakfast option which was a great choise to start a relaxing Sunday.
Great location. Nice hotel to stay at. Very friendly service and staff. Nice clean room but the mattress was a disaster. We asked for a new mattress but we're told that they don't have any extras. I would give it a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the terrible mattress. We stayed there for 8 days. My back was very sore after 8 days. Next door to a nice restaurant and a pizza place.
Lovely retro place. You feel as if you are back in the 70s. Friendly and professional staff everywhere. Functional rooms. Location great for jogging and walking in nature. Gym and sauna decent. Bar in the italian restaurant doesnice drinks and has a groovy atmosphere.|We'll be back in Florida
Everything was perfect! the room, the breakfast, the gym and also the staff is really nice and professional. I recommend it and will stay there again when I am in the area. There is a lot to do nearby. Cycling, winery and hiking trails. Nearby lakes
Florida is a 3 star hotel in Studen, located just outside of the city of Biel/Bienne. There aren't many other hotels in this area, so there isn't much to compare with. Its position on the town's outskirts, means it feels like it's in the countryside, and indeed there are views of the mountains and forest-covered hills of the surrounding area. The hotel itself is a little basic, and to a degree feels like it's in need of a refurb, being somewhat stuck in a time warp!! The furnishings and decor are rather chintzy, and dated, but it is clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic, with few mod cons. The room safe requires a 2 CHF coin to use, and it has a physical key that you can remove once you deposit your coin within. The safe is small, and might only just fit an iPad. The room door lock is manual, which means the door can be opened from the outside if you don't actually lock it. There is no fridge, no mini-bar, no air-con, although there is a TV, but with only 1 English language channel - Bloomberg. The beds are on the soft side, and a mains plug is hard to find, apart from a couple in really impossible to use positions, like up near the ceiling, or within the main light switch arrangement halfway up a wall. But all that said, it was clean and functional, even though it lacked luxury or modernity. There aren't traditional curtains but instead there's a mechanically operated blind on the outside of the window. Breakfast is a little underwhelming. The only hot items are hard-boiled eggs. They offer a selection of cereals, breads, jams, cheese and cold meats, but no bacon!!! They do have freshly baked croissants (from frozen), and acceptable coffee and a selection of fruit juices. There are also two restaurants on site which are highly regarded by the locals, and to be fair the food was quite nice, but not as great as the service which was cordial and friendly. They had a couple of scarlet macaws in a large (but not large enough) cage which some people seemed to like (although I hate seeing birds captive) as well as a lilly pond with very vocal frogs. Overall the hotel is adequate and does the job. Could it be better? Of course, but it isn't claiming to be anything more than it actually is.
We were 4 ladies on a biking holiday and this hotel was a pleasant surprise in a lovely quiet location. We thought they were kidding about the flamingoes and rainforests, so surprised to find the forest in the restaurant and the flamingoes …
