This is a great place to park to go and see the Rheinfall (Rhine Falls) You have to go through an industrial area to get there and there aren’t any signs for it, so you might be worried you’re going the wrong way, but persevere because it’s worth it! This parking place on the north side is quiet (a Tuesday in September) and as of writing September 2025 it is free. The barrier is already up when you drive in, and the barrier opens automatically when you drive out. It takes about 10-12minutes to walk to the bridge that goes over from north to south side. Or you can continue along north side. The walk is lovely along the river to get to the bridge. There were plenty of parking spaces when we were there.

Parking lot close to the Rhine fall. In fact it is 7 minutes walk to the railway bridge that leads to the Castle and platforms to watch the water really close. As mentioned by others, the barriers were open when I drove in (around 13h00) meaning that no ticket was given by the entry machine. On my exit (around 20h30) the barriers were down and illuminating in red color. However when I reached near the barrier simply opened. So as of August 23, the payment system is still down so you can park for free. The machine at the entry had “only cash accepted” in English so in future when it starts working again, people might need cash to pay for the parking. The parking itself is quite big and had plenty of empty spaces to park. The entry can be tricky for large cars but see the pictures and make your judgments.

If you have time for a nice walk and want to save money on parking when visiting the Rhine Falls - this is the ideal parking! Parking closer to the falls is more expensive and can be full during rush hour.

I felt uneasy because it felt like a company parking lot, but I was able to use it without any problems. The price was also cheap and it was a good choice. The parking space is narrow, so if you have a large car, it may be better to choose a large space away from the parking lot. We were able to travel conveniently to the waterfall using the nearby elevator.

Best park area for the price and location. I have parked 3.5 hours for 4.5 Franken (around 5€) which was much cheaper that other parking areas near to the water fall. The only confusion was the underground one way , towards the parking place. Additionally the way in/out is too narrow but careful drive won't make any issues. You can either go to the fall via industrial area or via banks of the river!

Visited the Rhien Falls on 19 Sep and parked our rental car here. Parking was FREE! The barrier was working - we took a ticket upon entry and used the same ticket at exit, but no payment was needed! Just follow gmaps for the routes to take to get to the rhine falls :)
