REHA (Rehabilitation Center) is located in the mountains and is the most beautiful spa resort in the Canton of Bern. Many people from all over the world come here for rehabilitation and receive the best care. Tourists and travelers are also always warmly welcomed. The terrace offers a magical view and a wide selection of food. Although I live nearby, I keep coming back to REHA and even want to stay overnight because it's truly worth it. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the friendly and kind staff who served me food and drinks and provided all the great information about vacations.
I spent three weeks in Heiligenschwendi recovering from abdominal surgery. The doctors and nursing staff were attentive and empathetic (a stark contrast to the previous clinic), and I received a variety of treatments tailored to my needs. In addition to gymnastics, cycling and walking exercises, and physiotherapy, I also received comprehensive and excellent nutritional counseling, psychological support, and they even addressed a lingering issue: lymphedema following a previous breast surgery, for which they arranged lymphatic drainage. The weekly dog therapy sessions were a wonderful addition. And then there's the breathtaking view from the rooms overlooking Lake Thun, which helped me unwind and get back on my feet. I would like to mention two points: - Unfortunately, there is no choice regarding meals; you have to commit to one option: meat or vegetarian. A little more flexibility here would be appreciated. ... It's also a shame that there's practically no option for a single room (which costs an additional CHF 360 per day for those insured under the basic plan, if available at all). Roommates who wear a loudly wheezing oxygen mask overnight or snore loudly can really keep you awake.
The rehabilitation clinic is located above Lake Thun, on the edge of the forest. The doctors are overwhelmed, incompetent, and irresponsible. They send patients home without vital medications and forget to send medication lists to their family doctor so they can order the medications. Medical reports are also not forwarded. During the stay, treatments were forgotten, or unnecessary measures were performed that weren't necessary. The food is edible, but it can't be praised. So if you can go to another clinic, avoid the one in Heiligenschwendi!
