Very nice skiing area with all possible tracks for advanced and beginners, for ski, snowboarding and sliding. In the morning perfectly prepared slopes, however, as the day progresses, the conditions deteriorate dramatically. In the afternoon, no fun sliding anymore.

Amazing afternoon ski at a scenic and pretty quiet ski area on a weekday. Here a detailed review: -Arrival/Ticketing: I just got a parking spot out of luck in the main lot. I arrived at 11:30 and got a half day ski pass. The price was alright for swiss standards. Due to the parking situation I thought it might be busy but I found a pretty empty ski area. The weather was all blue sky above 800m elevation and there was enough snow for all runs to be open. -Ski area: The size of the area is not that big and at the end of the day it was ideal for half a day. The area can be divided in the sections: the more advanced nothern Section at Bonistock and the fun (more family oriented) south Section at the other side of the lake Melchsee. In the valley, instead of starting off with the gondolas, I took the double bubble chairs (such lifts are pretty rare), I felt like being the only person on it. The black run 4 from Cheselenfirst down was empty and still fresh (though had some ice at the steep part near the end). The upper black runs from Bonistock were very fun and more frequented. On Bonistock you have a very nice panorama and a great place to have a break. From Bonistock you can ski all the way down to the valley (remarquable long 5-7km), you can take the black runs or the longer blue run. The blue valley run (also frequented by sleds) is pretty chill but you can take some red/black shortcuts. To get to the south section of the area, you cross the lake via a rope tow, which you also have to use to get back (+elevator). This section tends to be a bit busier than Bonistock. The Erzegg runs are on the easier side but very fun and varying. The runs on Balmeregghorn are a bit steeper but also less busy due to the T-bar lift. I ended the day with a nice après-ski drink on Bonistock before skiing down back to the valley. Verdict: ++scenic landscape ++ quiet area on weekday, runs still fresh at 2pm + variety of runs, blacks & fun easier runs + long valley runs with possibilities (easy or hard) + snow sure ~ smaller ski area - north and south sections kinda seperated with the lake (ropetow) inbetween. Bonistock is kinda better connected and offers better runs
