Bike paths in and around Berlin aren't exactly the best, so I decided to get a new full-suspension bike. Exactly one month ago, I finally received the Goroc TR:X 8.63. Now, with 1,000 km on the clock: it's fantastic. The Pinion gearbox isn't perfect, but it does its job very well, just as I wanted. The suspension is a dream. The bike does have some weaknesses, but I'm not deducting any from the overall rating for them. - A proper rear rack would be desirable; I retrofitted one. - The handlebars are poorly shaped for accessories; I built an extension myself to be able to mount brackets with a 31mm diameter straight. - The white locking pin in the frame bends easily; it should be a bit shorter, a bit larger in diameter, and ideally have a ball joint. - A piece of soft foam is missing at the bottom of the rear aluminum frame mount, below the fender, between the aluminum stay and the carbon frame, to keep stones out. Occasionally, small stones get stuck here, which could scratch the paint and bend the stay. - I've installed an Abus Alarmbox 2 under the saddle. I generally don't have it attached while riding. However, there are hardly any places to mount such things on the bike, as the frame is too wide or something is in the way. There's no hole on the rear fender where something could potentially be attached. - Information on the maximum power consumption of the front and rear lights would be helpful. Digital cornering lights and headlights are now available, but whether they can be installed remains a mystery without further information. The MGU lacks an additional connector for components. - A USB charging port on the handlebars would be great. - The price is a bit high. Nevertheless, it's a very well-designed bicycle and always a pleasure to ride.
Hello Flyer Team! I've been the proud owner of a Goroc TR:X 8.63 HS for three weeks now, and it's currently at the dealer for repairs. What happened: While riding on a level road, the lock came loose from its mount and jammed in the rear wheel. The damage is extensive; the entire rear triangle needs to be replaced. I should mention that the lock had never been used before. The mount must have opened on its own due to vibrations, and this is probably not an isolated incident. I sent an email to Flyer about this, but I haven't received a reply or any explanation to date. There's neither a customer service department nor a phone number to contact them. A disgrace for a premium manufacturer. Jürgen Bollinger
