Dropped my snowboard early Monday morning for a full service as this was recommended by the hotel concierge I was staying in. Shop looked quiet and no customer beside myself and I can see 3 staff working. She said 50 swiss francs for the full service and I agreed. Dropped by later in the afternoon to check if it’s ready. Then the Swiss girl behind the counter had a look at the back to check and she said it’s not been serviced yet but an older guy came out of the other room and talked to her in Swiss (I didn’t understand but im assuming he asked her what im after) so he told me it’ll be ready in 5 minutes. So I waited, when he handed me the snowboard I can tell immediately that it was not properly waxed and edged, especially the nose as I do a lot of front switch butters so the nose of the board gets snow contact a lot. The tail looks very dry as well and it still has the scrape from when I hit a patch of dirt. The middle part looks good tho and been waxed properly So I asked the staff if it can be waxed again and I don’t mind paying more as I need it to be properly service. I dont mind picking it up tomorrow morning as well. So a younger guy came and he told me “you don’t use those part” and I told him I do as I do switch turns and butter. So he grabbed the board and took it in the equipment room and I waited in the shop. I was just standing and having a look at their merchandise and it felt like the shop girl was following me around. I’m not sure if I was getting profiled as I am part asian. As I’ve experienced it before, “People assume Im new to snowsports” So the younger guy gave the snowboard to me after 5 minutes. The nose looks beautifully done. But he neglected tail. At this point I just couldn’t be bothered and I felt really uncomfortable inside the shop and I just wanted to leave. To be honest, I wish they would have just told me in the beginning if they don’t have time to do it or maybe they don’t know how to service a snowboard as it looks like a ski shop. And I kept repeating that I don’t mind paying extra, just needed the board to be properly serviced. I’ve attached photos of the “finished full service” for my snowboard. Overall I would not recommend to have your gear serviced here. I ended up going to Snowlimit the day after as the board was not performing well and it’s a bit icy conditions and needed a sharp serviced edge. Also if you’re a person of colour, probably not the best place to go shopping for ski garments as the staff really made feel uncomfortable and dare I say, racist
Amazing store. I had issues with my ski boots and they took time to sort everything out. Giving me a lot of advice as well. 5/5 would recommend to anyone buying or renting ski-gear!
The bootfitter here was excellent, heard my concerns and was able to ski the rest of my Switzerland trip without any issues. Much love to him for saving the rest of my trip and for being able to do so affordably. Love supporting a family business and worth the walk compared to the other ski shop in the newer part of town.
Easily the best ski shop I have visited. I do multiple ski trips a year and nothing compares to the quality of materials and knowledge that they provide at Meyers Sporthaus. The people working here are so well informed and willing to accommodate. I'd highly recommend!
Fantastic experience at this ski boots store! Tomasz and Dominika are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and take the time to ensure you find the perfect fit. High-quality selection and excellent customer service. Highly recommend for all your ski boot needs!
Rented an E-bike here, had very good service, reasonable price, and the bike was fun to ride.
